LCSC nursing student Mitchell earns summer internship with CLPP program

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College nursing student Alexandra (Alli) Mitchell, has been selected as a summer intern for The Civil Liberties & Public Policy (CLPP) program at Hampshire College.

Mitchell, who is from San Leandro, Calif., will be interning at Nursing Students for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Eugene, Ore., this summer as part of the CLPP’s summer internship program, the Reproductive Rights Activist Service Corps, which began in 1999.  The program places undergraduate students at paid internships at reproductive rights and social justice organizations across the country.

Mitchell is a senior at LCSC and is expected to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in December.

The program received 778 applications from 43 states, Washington D.C., and Guam for this summer’s internships and only 25 were selected, including Mitchell. She attended the CLPP’s annual conference last month as part of her pre-internship training and spent three days at Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., learning about reproductive rights, social justice, and skills specific to their internship
