NWCCU accreditation team to visit LCSC in October

LEWISTON, Idaho – The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) will perform a comprehensive accreditation visit to Lewis-Clark State College on Oct. 29-31, 2018.

An NWCCU evaluation team will meet with campus students, faculty, staff, administrators, and members of the Idaho State Board of Education to evaluate LCSC’s accreditation status, in conjunction with LCSC’s 2018 Year Seven Self-Evaluation Report.

In preparation for the October visit, LCSC invites members of the LC community, as well as members of the general public, to provide comments regarding LCSC’s qualifications for accreditation. All signed comments received by the NWCCU will be forwarded to the visiting evaluation team members and to LCSC officials.

Comments should be sent directly to NWCCU (at the address below) by Sept. 30, 2018, in order to be considered in the accreditation review.

LCSC is currently accredited through the NWCCU, which was reaffirmed following a mid-cycle visit in October 2014. Since that time, LCSC has submitted two ad hoc reports which were accepted as meeting NWCCU’s expectations. Accreditation through NWCCU means that LCSC meets the Commission’s established standards of educational quality and effectiveness.

This announcement is being sent per the requirements of NWCCU Policy A-5, Public Notification and Third Party Comments Regarding Year Seven Evaluations. More information can be found at the NWCCU website (www.nwccu.org/tools-resources/institutions/forms-guidelines) or by contacting the NWCCU office at 445-558-4224.
