Boise State University Nursing Partnership Fall/Spring

This link is provided for BSU pre-nursing students who may also qualify for LCSC's BSN program through the BSU/LCSC Nursing Partnership.

In order to facilitate your nursing application, please apply to Lewis-Clark State College as early as possible. Admission to the college can take 2-3 weeks once official transcripts have been received. BSN applications will not be processed until college acceptance has been confirmed and late applications risk being disqualified for consideration.

Here are the steps to apply to our BSN program:

  1. Apply to Lewis-Clark State College as a "degree-seeking" student and list your major as "Pre-Nursing BSN"
    • Request one copy of official transcripts to be sent to LCSC Office of Admissions
      • Include transcripts from ALL colleges and universities attended
  2. Submit completed BSN application by email to: trlawen@lcsc.edu, please follow-up with a phone call to confirm receipt. (208)792-2250
    • BSN APPLICATION
      • Unofficial Transcripts must be included with BSN application
    • $35 application fee is waived for those students who also applied to BSU's nursing program
    • Students who submit a completed application within our application window may be considered in the first round of admissions. (Feb 15-28 or Sept 15-30, whichever comes first)
    • Students who apply to LCSC but are accepted to BSU may withdraw their LCSC application.

This information is also being distributed by the Boise State University nursing program so you are aware of alternative options for completion of your nursing degree. We sincerely hope you include us among your choices for your nursing education.

If you have any questions, please contact our Program Advisor, Tiffany Pilon (tbpilon@lcsc.edu) at 208-792-2087.

We understand the requirements to apply for the BSN at Boise State are different than the requirements for LCSC. Here are the major differences:

  • Certification as a Nurse's Aid (CNA) or LCSC Equivalency
    • Skills test and written exam must be scheduled & completed by Dec. 17 or July 17th
    • CNA courses are available at College of Western Idaho in Nampa, ID. These courses run 11-12 weeks long and should be started as early as possible. See CWI website for dates/times.
    • LCSC Equivalency: 36 hour skills only course. See Workforce Training  for details on cost and upcoming course offerings.
  • Complete the HESI A² Admission Assessment Exam (Distance testing is available)
  • Petition required if Microbiology is in-progress at time of application
  • GPA requirements: 2.75 (only includes Chem 105 (or equiv), A/P I & II, Microbiology, and Statistics). Must have a cumulative college gpa of 2.5 or better as well. Use our GPA Calculator
    • Note: Students who successfully complete science & statistics courses on the first attempt are given preference
  • If you will have General Education requirements missing at the time of application, please make sure you speak with an NHS advisor about completing these over summer break(s). Tiffany Pilon (208) 792-2087 or tbpilon@lcsc.edu
