Pre-Requisite Courses BSN Basic Track

  • All pre-requisite courses must be completed prior to application, unless specified otherwise.
  • A “C” (2.0) or greater is required in each pre-requisite course.
  • Courses marked with an * must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 to be eligible. 
  • Students who have repeated one course, one time due to low grades may apply unencumbered. Students who have repeated two courses or one course multiple times must include a petition and letter of explanation with their application. This applies to Biol 250, Biol 252, Biol 253, Biol 312, Chem 105, Hlth 253 and Psyc 300.Internal Student Petition Form
  • In all cases, the most recent grade will be the grade used for GPA calculations

Lab must be included. Classes written for pre-nursing or pre-medical students. All courses in the series of anatomy/physiology courses at a specific college must be completed. Course equivalency is assessed by our Natural Sciences division
BIOL 253* Anatomy & Physiology II 4
Lab must be included. Classes written for pre-nursing or pre-medical students. All courses in the series of anatomy/physiology courses at a specific college must be completed. Course equivalency is assessed by our Natural Sciences division
PSYC 300* or MATH 253* Statistics 3
 
ENG 102 Research Writing 3
This course may be in progress at the time the application, but must be completed before beginning the program. This course is waived for students designated as core complete. 
COMM Core   3
Interpersonal or Small Group communications is preferred. This course may be in progress at the time the application, but must be completed before beginning the program. This course is waived for students designated as core complete.
MATH Core   3
A variety of mathematics courses meet equivalencies. See Gen Ed Core Curriculum. A minimum “C” grade is pre-req for BIOL 312 at LCSC
Social Science & Diversity Core   9

HLTH 253 Nutrition 3
200 level or higher class is required. This course may be in progress at the time the application, but must be completed before beginning the program.
BIOL 312 Pathophysiology 3
Course equivalency for transfer courses is assessed by our Natural Sciences division. This course may be in progress at the time the application, but must be completed before beginning the program. Transfer Patho course must be 300 level or above.
