Student Counseling Services
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is offered to students who
wish to discuss personal concerns that interfere
with their emotional well being and their
ability to achieve their educational goals.
Individual counseling operates on a brief
therapy model which provides for up to 8
individual weekly counseling sessions per
student per academic year. Typically, the
student will meet with a counselor to explore
the area of concern and to develop a plan to
address the problem situation.
Couples Counseling
Couples counseling is provided for students and their spouses or life partners. Couples
counseling follows a brief therapy model providing up to 8 weekly sessions per couple per
academic year.

Group Counseling
Each semester a variety of
educational workshops and therapy groups is
offered for
students who wish to address personal problems
and self-development within a supportive group
setting. Therapy groups offer students the
opportunity to interact with others who face
problems similar to their own. The group process
allows students to receive group support and to
learn to develop more satisfying relationships.
Recent groups include Survivors of Sexual Trauma
and Depression Management. Educational workshops
provide information and the opportunity for
development of better coping skills. Recent
workshops have addressed adjustment to college,
eating disorders, multicultural awareness,
substance abuse, and sexual assault. |
