GONORRHEA

GONORRHEA:  (Sterilizer of nations)

-         Leading bacterial infection in adults.

CAUSE

            Bacteria – gonococci

MODE OF TRANSMISSION

Spread through physical contact which accompanies sexual intercourse and homosexual practice.

INCUBATION

            3 – 9 days

SYMPTOMS

            MALE:  Burning sensation on urination, purulent discharge.

            FEMALE: Burning sensation, purulent vaginal discharge symptoms may  be slight and go unnoticed.

PREGNANCY

            May affect baby’s eyes during delivery

DIAGNOSIS

            Smear test

TREATMENT OF CHOICE

            Antibiotic from Health Department or physician of own choice.

IMMUNITY

            No natural immunity, you can catch it again and again and again.
