Healthy Steps Registration Deadline is February 28
Do you want to lose weight? Do you need more activity in your life? Do you want to become healthier? Then…why not become a participant of Healthy Steps.
The Student Activities Department and the Kinesiology Department are working together to provide students, faculty, and staff with resources to benefit their personal health. The registration deadline for Healthy Steps is February 28 by noon. The program is limited to 20 participants, so sign up fast. To get a registration form, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration forms and payment can be submitted to SUB 208, SUB 219, or taken the day of orientation.
The program is open to all students, faculty, and staff of LCSC. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and pedometer for participating. The cost to participate per semester is:
▫ $40 faculty/staff
▫ $20 students
The Informational meeting will be held on March 4 at Noon ACW 128A. The program will include a Fitness Center orientation, pre and post fitness assessments, and personalized exercise prescription with personal instruction 8 times throughout the semester. Healthy Steps will also offer 3 workshops that will include cardio, strength training, nutrition, and flexibility/yoga.
There will be an introductory meeting including a health questionnaire on Wednesday, March 4 from 12 pm in 128A. At this meeting, we will go over the goals and expectations of the Healthy Steps program, what is expected from the students, what is expected from the participants, and when the student trainer will be working with you. • Note – This program is meant to be a learning tool for students in the Kinesiology Department’s Exercise Prescription Class.
