PAYMENT PLANS

It is the policy of Lewis-Clark State College for all fees to be due and payable at the time the Award of Credits is received. The institution recognizes that a financial emergency can make it difficult for the student to tender payment in full at that time.
Students who neither have delinquent accounts with the college nor have defaulted on any previous financial obligations incurred at LCSC are given special consideration. These students may be permitted at the discretion of the Financial Vice-President or designee, to defer payment of fees.

ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE CHARGE

Students allowed to defer payment of fees will be assessed a service charge based upon the amount deferred as follows:

All deferred payment agreements will be evidenced by a signed promissory note, a copy of which shall be presented to the cashier at the time of the initial payment. Failure to comply with the terms of the deferred agreement may result in the following actions:
  1. Eligibility for Federal Student Loans may be revoked.
  2. A hold will be placed on all academic records.
  3. Permission to adjust  schedules or register for a subsequent semester will be denied until all financial obligations are paid in full.
  4. Future deferred payment privileges may be revoked.

REINSTATEMENT FEE:

Once a student's records have been retained for nonpayment of fees, a $50.00 reinstatement fee will be assessed.
Should it become necessary to employ the services of a collection agency, all collection costs will be added to the outstanding obligation.
The following conditions apply to all requests for deferred fees:
  1. At least 40% of the total fees in addition to the service charge specified above become due and payable at the time the Award of Credits letter is received.
  2. A signed promissory note must be on file in the Controller's Office.
  3. The deferred balance is payable in two equal installments at times agreed upon between the student and the Financial Vice-President or that person's designee. Usually 30 and 60 days following the initial installment.
Upon completion of assessment of your portfolio, you will receive a notice of credit award. A separate statement from the Controller's Office will include instructions for payment or establishing a payment plan. If you have any questions regarding payment, call or write:
