Greetings from LCSC President
J. Anthony (Tony) Fernandez
Thank you for your interest
in Lewis-Clark State College. You will find
our website to be a valuable tool as you
take time to explore our college and its
role and mission in higher education for
Idaho and beyond. Our low student-faculty
ratio, the lowest tuition among four-year
institutions in Idaho, and our intimate
setting make Lewis-Clark State College a
public institution with the feel and quality
of a private college.
Lewis-Clark State College offers a quality
education in a safe learning environment and
a beautiful area. The Morgan Quinto Press
recently ranked Lewiston as one of the top
25 safest cities in the United States. The
Lewiston area was ranked by “Outdoor
Life” magazine as one of its top 10 places
to live for three consecutive years. The
Lewiston-Clarkston Valley has a population
of more than 50,000 and is where the Snake
and Clearwater rivers join, providing plenty
of boating, fishing, and other water
recreational opportunities – and Lewiston is
near sea level so the winters are very mild.
You will receive a quality education at LCSC
and our graduating students continue to make
their mark in society. Over the past 10
years, more than 90% of students who
completed a biology or chemistry degree have
been accepted to a graduate medical program. In
addition, our students have been hired
directly after graduation by national
companies such as Microsoft, ESPN, AIG, AFLAC, and
Albertsons. LCSC alumni are leaders
throughout the Pacific Northwest
particularly in business, education, and the
health professions.
Wherever your interest lies, Lewis-Clark
State College is here to assist you on your
career path. LCSC offers a customized
educational experience by meeting students
where they are and taking them to where they
want to go. Our faculty will engage and
challenge you, and we are ready to help you
with support, from financial aid to career
advising and much more. We also have several
ways for you to become more involved with
LCSC, including numerous clubs and
organizations, student government, and top
25 NAIA athletic programs.
If you haven't already visited the
Lewis-Clark State College campus, I invite
you to walk around and explore our
buildings, talk with our faculty and
students, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Lewis-Clark State College is truly an
inspirational place, one that makes a
difference in the lives of students, the
communities we serve, and the world around
us. We hope that you make Lewis-Clark State
College part of your journey.
