President's Council Meeting Summary

Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
Dr. Richard "Deacon" Meier has been appointed as Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. This reflects a title change for the position with emphasis on student enrollment, recruitment and retention.
Athletic Department Organization
Athletic Department functions have been defined in an organizational chart. The president and provost will continue to serve as co-athletic directors with three main reporting function areas: Auxiliary Support, Program Support and Programs/Coaches.
Request for Campus Volunteer Services
President Thomas noted individuals who have expertise and who have volunteered to give time to the college. She encouraged Council members to assist with matching volunteers in service areas.
State Board of Education - April Meeting Report
Student Fees: The Board approved the student fee request of 11.84 per cent.
Student Health Insurance: The Board approved the proposed policy for mandatory student health insurance. Lewis-Clark State College was given a one-year reprieve to find a suitable plan for our student population.
At-Will Contracts: The Board gave second reading to the proposed policy to give all state agencies and institutions the option to hire employees on an at-will contract.
