Meeting Updates
Presidents with Governor Kempthorne: The Governor is waiting for April revenue returns before taking further action, such as releasing the construction projects. Revenues for the month of February were not as low as initially thought; March revenues are pending. Most likely the construction projects will not be released until July. Next month the presidents will provide Governor Kempthorne with an overview on how to meet the demands of higher education.
Nancy Szofran provided an update on IdaNet. The funding source is a matter of debate and question.
The Non-classified Staff policy is being revised to allow higher education to offer annual contracts and allow the agencies to offer at-will employment. It is still questionable what direction the State Board of Education will take on this policy.
Campus Meeting
President Thomas reviewed the information that she will present at the campus meeting this afternoon. She emphasized that the plan is a work in progress; this is a status report only; and we are still $100,000 away from goal. The new organization focuses on the three-part role and mission. There are still several organizational issues that will need more thought before final decisions can be made. Job descriptions will need to be reviewed and adjusted.
