President's Council Meeting Summary

State Board of Education Appointment

Governor Kempthorne appointed Twin Falls attorney Laird Stone to the State Board of Education. Mr. Stone replaces Curtis Eaton, who left the Board to assume a position with the College of Southern Idaho.

Enrollment Report

Strategic Planning Update

Committee Chairs are finalizing track I reports, and track II and III reports are being compiled. The complete package of reports should be submitted to the president by Friday, December 14.

LHS Senior Lifetime Passes

Kathy Noble reported on a long-standing offer by Lewiston and Clarkston High Schools to senior citizens for a lifetime pass to Lewiston and Clarkston High School and LCSC athletic events. It is uncertain how many of such passes are utilized for LCSC events, but it is certain that very few people attending games in the gymnasium are paying admission. Discussion followed regarding admission processes and collection of attendance data. Ms. Noble will attempt to survey the audience to learn the number of admissions by category (boosters, employees, etc.) Admission processes need to be addressed as a source of revenue.

Faculty Budget Liaison Committee

A meeting for the Faculty Budget Liaison Committee is scheduled for Thursday, December 13, at 8:00 a.m. President Thomas and others will present information about the budget process that will provide the base for the FY03 budget.
