Dr. J. Anthony
Fernández
Provost and Vice President for Academic
Affairs
Dr. Tony Fernández
was born and raised in LaHabra, California. He earned
his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from California State
College, Fullerton, and his Ph.D., in Plant Pathology
from Washington State University.
Dr. Fernández has
held faculty and administrative positions at the
University of Hawaii at Hilo and Fort Hays State
University in Hays, Kansas. He also was a faculty
member at the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Fernández has
published over forty scientific and technical papers and
recently served as Chairman of the Governor’s Blue
Ribbon Commission for Public Health Improvement in the
State of Kansas.
The Fernández family
includes wife Diane, of Palouse, Washington, and sons
David and Joe.
