Professional-Technical Programs
Welcome to the Lewis-Clark State College
Professional-Technical Programs web page. I hope your visit to this site is
to learn more about the educational and workplace offerings available to
you. The Professional-Technical Programs, Academic Programs, and Community
Programs form the Lewis-Clark State College focus in its mission to serve
north central Idaho, the State of Idaho, and beyond.
The mission of the Professional-Technical Programs is to offer
professional and technical training through a formalized array of
educational experiences that will prepare individuals for gainful employment
as semi-skilled, skilled workers, or technicians in recognized and in new
and emerging occupations. It also prepares individuals for enrollment
in advanced technical education programs. To accomplish this mission,
the Professional-Technical Programs offers 22 Associate of Applied Science Degrees, 16
Advanced Technical Certificates, and 22 Certificates in a wide array of
career areas.
Each of the program areas maintains and counsels with
an Advisory Committee that is formed from local and regional employers.
They advise faculty and administrators about changes in curriculum required
to provide properly skilled employees. They also take an active role
by providing programs with student internships, industry tours, judges for
student competitive events, and ultimately job placement.
The Technical & Industrial Division offers skill training through technical and
industrial programs. The Business Technology and
Service Division offers skill
training through office occupations and business management programs.
Workforce Training offers professional-technical entry level, upgrade,
and industry-specific job skills training to meet individual and
business-industry needs.
The Region II Tech Prep
program offers high school students access to “dual credit” classes.
Courses that have been articulated into existing Professional-Technical
Programs can count for high school graduation and be included on a
Lewis-Clark State College transcript and applied toward a technical
certificate or degree.
Each of the Professional-Technical
Programs faculty and staff
welcome your questions and look forward to assisting you in the development
of your career goals. Please call or contact us.
