Calculation of Grade Point Average

The GPA is the result of dividing the total number of grade points by the total number of attempted graded credits.  For example, a 3-credit course with a grade of C (2.0) is assigned 6 points.  Therefore, 6 ÷ 3 = 2.0 GPA.

It is important to note that the GPA calculator is a tool to be used for reference purposes only and the result should not be confused with the GPA that appears on your academic transcript.

Courses graded with the Pass/Fail option receiving a 'P' grade are not included in the calculation of the term or cumulative GPA and do not count for term or graduation honors.  Courses graded with the Pass/Fail option receiving an 'F' grade are included in the calculation of the term and cumulative GPA and do count for term and graduation honors.  As such, when calculating your GPA, you must remove all 'P' or 'S' grades from your credit total.
