Leadership Opportunities Ways students can get involved in the residence halls

Leadership Retreat

Will you be a new college freshman this coming year?  Come to the Leadership Retreat! There are two Retreats to choose from, one in June, one in July.  More information will be sent out in your room assignment letter mailed in May.

Residence Hall Association

Do you like to help plan fun activities and meet new people?  Join RHA!  RHA is a group of students who want to help plan fun activities for the residence hall students.  All residence hall students pay a $25 Activity Fee, which pays for fun events and activites during the year. Some of the activities planned include: game night, late night capture the flag, Spokane shopping trips, and MORE!  You can plan activities around your interests.

Tour Host

Did you come to campus and take a tour of the residence halls? Would you like to have your room be one of the rooms we show to prospective students? We know that students and parents like to see an "actual" room and not a room decorated by Residence Life staff, so we are always looking for a few rooms to show what a lived in room looks like. We also need students to host prospective students every now and then. If you are interested in having your room be one of our tour rooms or if you would like to host a prospective student, please call the Residence Life office.

Resident Assistant

An RA is a student leader who lives on a floor and helps create community, plan programs and activities, and helps make sure people within the rules. Interested in becomming an RA?  The application process starts in January to hire staff for the next year. Applicants need to have a 2.5 GPA or higher and must have good judicial standing.

Residence Director

An RD is someone who was an RA for at least a year, has a 2.75 GPA or higher and has demonstrated leadership and supervision qualities. The RD selection process happens at the same time as the RA selection process.

Contact Residence Life if you have any questions about these or other leadership positions on campus.
