Student working in lab

Do you enjoy medical mysteries?  Have you ever wondered how breast cancer or gastrointestinal diseases are diagnosed?  We offer a unique course where students learn how to make histology slides prepared from tissues donated from a pathology laboratory.  We also teach the basics of slide interpretation and students practice this skill with pathology slides.  This course is a unique opportunity at an undergraduate institution and helps students develop a marketable skill, especially for those who are interested  in graduate school, pathology, or medical technology.   The pre-requisite for the course is one semester of organic chemistry.  If you are interested in finding out more, contact the instructors of the course.
