Young students learning math

Systems Day

All Systems Go! is an annual outreach to 3rd grade students organized by a partnership between the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Lewiston School District. Focusing on systems, students explore concepts in the areas of earth and physical science, biology and mathematics. Over the course of the Friday before Thanksgiving, about 400 third graders visit LCSC and do hands-on activities with faculty and student volunteers. Activities include ecosystems games, measuring gravity using iPads and learning about fractals as well as watching a fun chemistry magic show and practicing writing in science notebooks. The day is a great opportunity for the third graders to learn about systems and have fun with science. If you have questions about “All Systems Go!,” please contact Rachel Jameton at or Matt Brady at
