TRIO Academic Services Staff
(Student Support Services)

Loretta Nickel,  Director of TRIO Academic Services, has earned a master's degree in education from the University of Idaho and a bachelor’s degree in business from Lewis-Clark State College.  Prior to returning to direct the TRIO program at LCSC, she was the Director of SSS at Big Bend Community College since 1997.  She is also a trained Peer Monitor for the NAEOP region. Her areas of expertise include academic advising, reading strategies, student assessment and curriculum management. She has worked in SSS for 23 years, the last 15 as Director.

Linda Gallaher, Academic Specialist, has earned a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois. Linda provides math support for pre-algebra, basic and college algebra, finite mathematics and elementary education math. TRIO participants can sign up for the Applied Study Skills/Math Support course or benefit from one-on-one support in Linda's office at RCH 209. Linda is also the program's tutor lab supervisor.

Traci Noyes, Academic Advisor, has earned a bachelor of science in communications from Lewis-Clark State College and is a TRIO alumnus.  Traci is the instructor for SD110 Learning Strategies and provides academic advising to students.

Sara Mahuron, Retention Specialist, has earned an education specialist in educational leadership, a master of science in adult & organizational learning and leadership, a bachelor of science in psychology and a bachelor of arts in international studies from the University of Idaho. Sara is the instructor for SD 96 Basic Computer Skills, SD 220 Introduction to Leadership, and the study skills and financial literacy online workshops. She also assists students with academic advising, career counseling, research writing and graduate school advising. Sara is the current advisor for the TRIO Warrior Club.

Cathy Corker, Administrative Assistant, has earned a bachelor of science in business management from Lewis-Clark State College with a minor in marketing. Cathy serves as the main point-of-contact for students and is responsible for scheduling and the program's checkout system. Cathy is the current co-advisor for the TRIO Warrior Club.

Photo of Jessica SchultzJessica Schultz, Americorp Member and Lab Coordinator, has earned a master of science in science education from Montana State University and a bachelor of science in natural science and secondary education certification from Lewis-Clark State College. Jessica provides professional tutoring and oversees the operation of the lab.
