WHAT IS THE PEER MENTORING PROGRAM?
This program provides freshmen with the unique opportunity to be in a mentoring relationship with a more experienced upper-class student who has demonstrated academic and personal success.

WHAT IS A MENTEE/WHY BE A MENTEE?
A mentee is a first-year student who meets the program requirements. Being a mentee will allow you to learn more about college life, have an easier transition from high school, and meet new people.

WHERE DO I GET AN APPLICATION?
Applications are available in the main office, MLH 134, by emailing studetnsuccess@lcsc.edu, or with the mentee application.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHO MY MENTOR IS?
We try our best to pair you with a mentor who will be most helpful to you based upon the information you submit.

HOW MANY MENTEES ARE ASSIGNED TO EACH MENTOR?
3-4 mentees per mentor.

HOW DO I CONTACT MY MENTOR?
You and your mentor will set up a way to contact and communicate with each other, most likely through phone or email.

WHAT DO I TALK TO MY MENTOR ABOUT?
You can share pretty much anything you want with your mentor because they work under a strict confidentiality code.  In particular, you are encouraged to share about how your adjustment to LCSC is going.  If you have any particular concerns or questions, you can also let them know as well.

HOW OFTEN DO I MEET WITH MY MENTOR?
You will meet with your mentor a minimum of twice a month. If you feel you would like to meet more, please discuss this with your mentor.
