Teacher In-Service through LCSC

Statues of Lewis and ClarkThe Teacher In-Service program is administered under the direction of Summer School & Special Programs at Lewis-Clark State College. The State Board of Education has enacted policies which determine the administration of related fees and activities. These include:

  • Students participating in a Teacher In-Service course must be a public school or other professional employee of an Idaho school district.
  • The credit awarded is for professional development and cannot be applied towards a degree program.
  • The costs of instruction are paid for by an entity other than the institution.
  • The course must be approved by the appropriate academic unit(s) at the institution.

Fees for Teacher In-Service courses are currently set at $50 per credit. Because the institution does not pay for instruction, this allows for discounted rates for teachers. Private school teachers and teachers from schools outside of Idaho are not eligible for this discounted fee. Students not eligible for the Teacher In-Service rate, but who wish to participate in a Teacher In- Service course, must enroll in a separate section and pay the institution's regular part-time fee.
