Writers interested in submitting work to the journal should follow these guidelines:

No previously published work or manuscripts accepted for publication
Fiction and Non-fiction manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words
Poetry manuscripts should be limited to no more than four poems; there are no particular length restrictions. Send poetry and prose under separate cover
Work must be typed, double-spaced, they should be free of mechanical imprecision
Talking River reads submissions August 1 through April 1
