The 26th Annual Fazzari's Tennis Championships is the longest running community tennis event in the LC Valley.
Special thanks to the sponsor, FAZZARI'S FINEST (one of 18 "must try before you die" pizza places in the US.) This is also a tribute to Larry McConnell (the most celebrated tennis coach in the LC Valley - Larry has coached the Bantams for over thirty years) and his former player, Bob Uhlenkott who is the Chief Labor Analyst for the State of Idaho....these two got the tournament off the ground at Clarkston High School in June of 1989. As with anything, an event without participants is not an event.....Thank you to all who has and will continue to support this tennis championship.
Historically, the championships were held in June. Then it was moved to July, and August and now it has settled in September. The one unique feature of the Fazzari's is its claim to be the first if not the only tournament in the world to implement the "NO SERVICE LET" rule for all categories and levels (including the junior events).
All matches unless specified will be a two set regular scoring match with a 10 point match breaker in lieu of a 3rd set. Matches will be played on three venues, Clarkston High School, Lewiston High School and LCSC Tennis Center.
Each paid participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the winners and finalists of the main draws and the consolation winners. Prizes will appear in a myriad of forms....pizza certificates, sports items, t-shirts, strings, stringing certificates, indoor court time, congratulatory handshakes and appearance in a photo display on the LCSC Tennis Page on FaceBook.
