ITA Regional Tournament 2005 (Women's)
Lewis-Clark State College has regained the opportunity to
host the 2005 regional tournament from Sep 30 to Oct 1st. All four regional
schools have committed to participate in this prestigious event which provides
the Pacific Northwest region an automatic berth to the ITA Small College
National Tournament.
The regional schools include Southern Oregon University, Albertson College,
University of Alberta and LCSC. All the matches will be held at the LCSC Tennis
Center.
The individual winners in singles and doubles will advance
to Fort Myers, Florida Oct 13-16th.
Florida Gulf Coast University will host for a second consecutive year the ITA
Small College Tournament which will see representation from NCAA II, NCAA III,
NAIA and JUCO teams.
LC's Pei Yuin Keng and Hephzi Segura were the last Pacific Northwest
representatives to the national tournament in 2003 where Pei took second in
singles and third in doubles. The region did not have sufficient entries to
warrant a host site in 2004.
"I am very thankful to the ITA for granting us the host status again, and I am
very grateful to the regional coaches for committing to this event for 2005. It
should be a very exciting tournament as there is a deep field of players" -
coach Kai Fong
