Teams will consist
of a minimum of three players. If you like to pay a lot, then the smaller sized
teams will work best.
A round robin is planned for all the participating teams. Matches will begin as soon as the schedule is fixed. Each team match could take between 1-1.5 hours. We are hoping to put together 8 teams.
Matches will be scheduled every weekend or whenever teams can agree to play that week.
Preferred match times and days:
Saturdays between 1-6pm. Sundays between 1-4pm
Monday through Friday 8pm-10pm and some afternoons before 5pm.
Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-1pm
Other times can be scheduled. Captains will have to call the tennis office to confirm the court reservations. Basically, the teams involved for each match up will have to agree upon a match time.
Matches will take place in the LCSC Tennis Center. Two courts will be made available for each team match. Tennis balls and racquets will be provided.
Sports prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.
Each team match will consist of three rounds. Each round will feature a singles and a doubles set (that’s why each team will need a minimum of three players to pull this off). The requirement is for each team to field a different singles player and a different doubles combination for each round. So teams with three players will have the team members playing each round without sitting out. Teams with more players will have players taking turns to sit out. Each set will be a total of 8 games (so scores could end up being 8-0, 7-1, 6-2, 5-3….etc). The scoring used will be ad plus one. That means, play out the first deuce and play the sudden death point in the second deuce. In the second deuce, the receiver has the choice of receiving side. The team that wins the most number of games will win the overall match.
Captains will be in charged to reschedule matches if they cannot field a full team for the scheduled time and date.
