ALEX MAYTON WINS
A little bit about Alex.
Alex will be junior in the fall of 2005. His debut at the Idaho High School
State Championships in mixed doubles with Kate Hillman,
earned him a fourth place finish. Known for his unobtrusive fist pumps after
winning key points, Alex is a well liked competitor in the tennis circle.
He frequents the LCSC Tennis Center when not playing at the Lewiston High School
courts (about a block away from his house).
Persistency has paid off for Alex. Over the last couple of years, he has worked
hard on his game by adding more power and variety to his shots (especially to
his serve, which he can record up to about 95mph). Now he also has spider like
reflexes at the net. There are not too many players in the junior age group who
can pass him consistently anymore when he approaches the net to close out the
point.
