I came to the
Information Systems discipline with an extensive background in
sales, customer service, and retail management. After assessing
the likelihood of continued future employment and advancement
within my chosen career, it became obvious to me that I needed
to redirect my efforts towards a more stable, rewarding career.
I entered the Information Systems Analysis program at
Lewis-Clark State College and completed both the Associate and
Bachelor Degree programs in less than four years. I am currently
working towards my Masters Degree in Adult Technical Education.
The industry certifications I hold include: CompTIA A+ core and
operating systems, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified
Professional (MCP ) in Windows 2000 Professional and Server,
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) in Windows 2000
and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). I received my
Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) rating for CCNA this
past year. I am currently working on a Cisco Certified Security
Professional (CCSP) certification and have completed the Cisco
Wireless training. I have extensive experience in all phases of
operating system application and network implementations. With
my daughter, Vanessa, I enjoy many volunteer activities, and
actively pursue summer activities which take advantage of the
water resources offered in this region. Since entering the
Information Systems field, I have purchased my own home and have
been able to reach many of the goals I have set for myself. My
real passion is in the area of education and I feel that my
background in interpersonal communications has allowed me to
provide quality instruction within this program.
