Workforce Training


The phlebotomist is responsible for the proper collection, processing, and testing of blood specimens and various patient excretions.

During this course, you will complete 51 hours of class­room instruction which includes: basic anatomy and physiology of the vascular system, venipuncture, medical ethics, legal issues and much more. You will also complete 120 hours of hands-on training at a variety of clinical locations. Upon successful completion of this program, you are eligible to take the American Society for Clini­cal Pathology national examination. 


Lewis-Clark State College will receive $1,500 for fall and $1,500 for spring. Awards may be distributed in part or in full to more than one student each term. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in the Lewis-Clark State College Phlebotomy program
  • Plan to work in the field of Phlebotomy.

Application for spring, 2016 are due on January 4, 2016. Awards will be made by January 8, 2016. Students must register in the spring Phlebotomy class, date pending.
