PARAMEDIC/FIREFIGHTER-JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Civil Service Commission for the City of Clarkston will be accepting completed applications until 5 pm on February 21, 2018 to test to establish an Eligibility List for paramedic/firefighter for the Clarkston Fire Department. THERE IS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING/HIRING. Salary range starting step $4,881, second step $5,126 and top step $5,375 per month. Clarkston Fire Department provides ALS transport services for residents and visitors within Clarkston, Washington, population 7,359.  Clarkston sits at the confluence of the Snake River and Clearwater River, has easy access to The Blue Mountains in Washington and Craig Mountains in Idaho.

Clarkston’s Paramedic/firefighters responded to 1,969 ambulance calls and 213 fire responses in 2017.  Local ambulance transports are to Tri State Memorial Hospital (a Level 4 Trauma Facility and Level 2 Cardiac and Stroke facility) in Clarkston and St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center (a Level 3 Trauma Center and Level 2 Cardiac and Stroke Center) in Lewiston, Idaho.

Each of the three shifts are comprised of a Captain Firefighter/Paramedic and three Firefighter/Paramedic/EMTs; working 24 hour shifts in a modified Detroit schedule.  Reserve Firefighter/EMTs (part-time staff) are called upon to maintain the four person crew when full-time FF/Paramedics are gone on vacation or other type of leave. Firefighter/Paramedics are represented by IAFF Local 2299.

The Department will hire one full-time personnel (Paramedic/firefighter) and assign him/her to shifts as soon as possible after testing and background checks.  This is an immediate hiring employment opportunity for a qualified candidate from the Civil Service list that will be established by testing March 9 & 10, 2018 as described in the attached announcement or on-line at www.clarkston-wa.com.  An eligibility list will be established from this testing.

PHLEBOTOMIST-JOB OPPORTUNITY

Valley Medical is accepting applications for a phlebotomist.

Job Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining patient demographics and insurance records, accepting payments and creating tickets as necessary, entering and releasing orders in Harvest LIS, presenting ABN forms and instructing patients about them. Responsible for performing phlebotomy duties, drug collections, providing collection kits to patients.  Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
