Dental Assisting Fundamentals

Dental Assisting, Online/On Campus

Dental Assistants are valuable members of the dental care team. Your instructor will teach you the entry level skills needed to work as a dental assistant from helping the dentist, taking patient's medical history, teaching oral hygiene care to patients and much more. This course is divided between online, classroom, lab and 40 clinical hours at regional dental offices. Basic computer skills and high-speed internet access required. Hours: 80 classroom/lab, 10 online, 40 clinicals

During this fast paced course your instructor will teach you the basics of dental assisting.  You will learn about charting, infection control, cavity classification, anatomy of the mouth, chair-side assisting, radiographs, dental materials and procedures.  You will also complete 40 hours of clinical time in dental offices.

Our dental assisting program meets requirements for students to take the National Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) certification through the Dental Assisting National Board.
