When you apply and get accepted into the CAMP program you become CAMP Scholars. You have the opportunity to excel and flourish as a college student with your peers throughout the academic year. Our hope is to watch you grow into the amazing person we know you can be. At the end of the year we chose two students who we thought really stood out as CAMP Scholars during the year and name them the CAMP Scholars of the Year.

CAMP Scholars of the Year

Myra was chosen as the CAMP Scholar of the Year 2020. She is extremely dedicated and driven. As a CAMP Scholar, Myra was always making sure she was asking questions and pushing herself to meet (and exceed expectations). She joined clubs and orgs, and was always an advocate for her CAMP brothers and sisters. Congratulations Myra on a successful first year and your award as Student of the year!

I’m Mayra Perez from Caldwell, Idaho and I chose Lewis-Clark State College because they’re well-known for their amazing nursing program. I am a first generation student wanting to make her parents proud. My favorite part about CAMP was constantly learning new ways to set goals and working towards them.

Maria Jimenez was chosen as Scholar of the Year 2020.

She is an extremely strong leader with a strong voice. When she set a goal... watch out... because she was after it! She always used her voice in times of uncertainty for her CAMP Family and was determined to include everyone! Congratulations Maria for finishing your first year STRONG and your award as Student of the Year 2020.

My name is Maria Jimenez and I am a Nursing major here at LC State. I was born in Phoenix, and raised in both Arizona and Jalisco, Mexico. Now, I reside in Burley, Idaho which lead me to my journey at Lewis-Clark State College. I chose LCSC because of their College Assistant Migrant Program.

I knew that if I was a part of CAMP I would feel at home and make great connections with staff members on campus. My favorite thing about CAMP is the support system it gives you, the CAMP members become your family. My CAMP family are people who I can rely on if I ever feel home sick, my go to when I need advice and people who I enjoy hanging out with. My CAMP family will forever be a part of me and I am happy I will continue seeing them next semester!
