Shawn Bowman recently retire from teaching music for 38 years at Asotin High School.  He has played in the LCSC Jazz Band since 1987.  The last five of which he has conducted as well. Shawn is a graduate of Grangeville High School, and received his masters from the University of Idaho in Music Education-Vocal/Instrumental.

Shawns students have performed in many places including Seattle, Boise, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Edmonton, London England, Paris France, Crans-Montana Switzerland, Seifeld Austria, Rottenberg Germany, and Venice Italy. He is in demand as an adjudicator, and has conducted honor groups such as the Bi-County honor band in the Spokane Opera House, the Central Idaho Junior Mass Band, Southeast Washington Honor Band and Mass Band.

His awards include: Southeast Washington Music Educator of the Year, Washington State Music Educators Hall of Fame (2012), Lewis Clark State College Outstanding Educator (2014), and Alliance Teacher of the Month (2017).

Shawns instrument of choice is the tenor saxophone ( also plays clarinet and flute). Jazz is my favorite style of music. Kathy is his wife of 44 years. Two of his daughters are teachers. One is a housewife. He has 9 grandchildren.
