About Angela

Hello!  My name is Angela Meek, and I'm the Senior Instructional Designer in e-Learning Services.  I work primarily with faculty who teach in Canvas, and I develop asynchronous training courses in Canvas for the variety of technologies used for online instruction at LC State.  I also facilitate a variety of live workshops for faculty related to Canvas and educational technologies, and serve as the e-Learning representative on a number of campus committees.  I've been in e-Learning since 2009.  I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from LC and a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication from the University of Idaho.  I completed my master's in Educational Technology entirely online through BSU in 2013.

One of my favorite things about my job is the ever-changing nature of technology.  There's always something new and innovative happening with Canvas and the online education world.  I love going to regional conferences each year to network with other people in the Ed Tech and Online Education world.  I always enjoy presenting at these conferences and learning from my fellow instructional design colleagues.

I'm also an adjunct teacher for LC; I teach Introduction to Online Coursework, which provides an overview of the basic Canvas tools, as well as strategies for being a successful online student.  I've been teaching this class fully online for 5 years now, and I love being able to interact with students.  I especially enjoy having "tech-hesitant" students and seeing them grow and develop into confident technology users by the end of the semester.

In my free time, I like to read (mostly fantasy and science fiction) and play video games.  I'm also a table top roll player and am a novice Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Dragons.  I enjoy board games, word games (Scrabble, Bananagrams) and puzzles.  I love being crafty with my Cricut cutting machine, designing mugs, shirts, and cards.
