Registration for STEMGEM 2022 is closed

Thank you so much for your interest. The camp is full for 2022. We hope that your child is able to join us next year!

Why Camp STEMGEM? The purpose of Camp STEMGEM is to empower girls to explore in ways that are meaningful to them while developing a strong network of support. While we have design oriented projects ready for the campers to engage with, we also provide the space and time to take ideas in new directions.

How does Camp work? Working with Mentor Scientists in the community, our MS/HS Camp Creators are developing projects for our campers to design and explore. Most of the projects have a design and art component, as well as a STEM theme.

What does a Camp day look like? Campers rotate through three project spaces during the day, with a morning snack break, lunch, and outdoor free time. Some of our projects are outdoors and in the garden, so please have your child wear sunscreen!

Who is at the Camp? Camp STEMGEM has a director, two Lewiston School District Teachers, and six camp counselors for the 30 campers. There will also be occasional volunteer help from college students, parent volunteers, and the Mentor Scientists.

Why is the Camp free? This camp is generously supported by the Idaho STEM Action Center, STEM INNC, Think/Make/Create Labs, and LC State.
