Idaho Regional Mathematics Center, Region 2

Professional Development Resources for Teachers of Mathematics

The Idaho Regional Mathematics Centers provide support to the K-12 teachers, schools, and districts in mathematics. Since the needs acrossclassrooms, schools, and districts are so varied and diverse, we will work with you to develop an individualized plan of support. The nature of this free and focused support can include such things as in-class feedback and modeling of lessons, school-wide workshops, Professional Learning Community guidance, continuing credit courses for re-certification, and district-wide conferences. Please contact your Regional Mathematics Specialist or the Director to schedule a time to discuss how we can best meet your needs. And donʼt forget, we will come to you!

The regional center has copies of over 300 titles of booksmanipulatives, DVDs, technology, and “teacher ready” math backpacks containing manipulatives for K-6 and 6-8 classrooms that can be checked out by teachers in the region. The books and DVDs are on several topics, such as, common core standards, activities for the mathematics classroom, Singapore math, math tools in action, classroom discussions, holding professional development of mathematics in your school, and many more up to date research on mathematics education. The complete list of books and DVDs, manipulatives, and equipment that teachers may check out is provided in the links below.
