Hiring Process resources for search committees and hiring new employees

Human Resource Services has outlined the process below for the search committee chair, its members, and supervisors to follow.  If you have any questions about the process, please contact HRS at 792-2269 or 

Affirmative Action Forms

Note:  In certain instances, the search process may be waived.  Please complete the Recruitment Waiver Request Form along with justification of the waiver.

Search Committee Information 

Once Human Resource Services receives the Affirmative Action forms, we will place the advertisement on our HRS website along with other advertising sites to recruit a diverse applicant pool.  The search committee is responsible for placement of all other ads.  

The search committee will receive an email from Human Resources with the log in information to view the applications on ApplicantPro.  All search committee members will need to have a signed Confidentiality Agreement on file before being assigned applications.

The search committee chair will need to consult with the appropriate Dean/Vice President/Provost/President before bringing candidates on campus and making an employment offer.  

Employment Offer

Human Resource Services will need to be notified once an offer has been made and the candidate has accepted, so that we can send the electronic Background Check to the candidate.  Once the background check has been completed, Human Resources will notify all candidates that the position has been filled.  It is a common courtesy for the search committee chair to notify the candidates who were interviewed via telephone or on-campus.  The Search Chair will need to complete the Report of Hire and send to Human Resources to close the Affirmative Action file.

Internal Transfers

Supervisors who hire an internal employee must complete the online Inter-Campus Move Process Form. This will ensure the employee's access is modified to align with their new job responsibilities.

Onboarding Process for Supervisors

Supervisor Onboarding Checklist for supervisors to complete before the arrival of their new employee.  Supervisors can also refer their new employee to the New Hire Onboarding site as well.
