Everything You Need to Know About Your LCMail Account

LCMail is the LC State student email system, powered by Google. LCMail also includes tools such as Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Docs, and Google Groups.

We recommend adding your LCMail account to your phone so that you don't miss out on important deadlines and opportunities. 

Click here to access your LCMail account. You should have received a letter in the mail/email with your account information.

Your temporary password is your 8-digit birthdate. If you have lost your LCMail email address, contact our IT Help Desk.

Once you log in once, it will then prompt you to create a new password. Make one that will be something you remember and secure!

Sometimes, students have trouble logging on to their LCMail account because of an existing Gmail account. If you are having trouble adding your LCMail, you can add multiple emails to your profile!

  1. Once you are in your Gmail account that automatically logs in (most likely a personal or work Gmail), click on your profile in the top right-hand corner. This is a circle icon with either your picture or initials.
  2. Once you click on that, you will see an option for "Add Another Account". Click on that!
  3. That will prompt you to log in again. You will need to type in your full LC Email, such as [email protected].
  4. It will then ask for your password. If you've already logged into your LCMail before, this will be the password you set yourself. If you have not logged on yet, visit the "Logging In" Section on this page!
  5. Once you've logged in, you can toggle between multiple emails by going back to your profile in the top right-hand side of the Gmail screen and selecting the email you want to open. (Note: it may ask you to put in your password again).

Students have the option to forward all incoming LCMail emails to a personal email! This can be helpful if you forget to check multiple emails every day. We recommend this so you can stay up-to-date with events, deadlines, and so you don't miss important information from LC State departments and faculty!

Forwarding your email:

  1. Log into your LCMail account or switch to your LCMail account in Gmail.
  2. On the top right-hand side of the page, you should see a gray "gear" icon, this is your settings.
  3. When you click on the settings, it will show a button at the top saying "See all settings". Let's dive into those settings!
  4. Once you click on the "See all settings", you'll see a variety of settings across the top, such as "General", "Labels", and more.
  5. You will see one labeled "Forwarding and POP/IMAP". Let's go there!
  6. Once you've selected the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP", the first option will be "Forwarding". Fill in the bubble circle for the "Forward a copy of incoming mail to..." option. You will also see a gray button that allows you to add a forwarding address. Select that and add in your preferred email.
  7. You will see other options, such as "keep Lewis-Clark State College Mail's copy in the inbox" or "Delete Lewis-Clark State College's Mail Copy". Select "keep Lewis-Clark State College Mail's copy in the inbox". You WILL NEED a copy of all emails in your LCMail inbox. This is because...

You can receive emails through another inbox (through forwarding), but you MUST send replies or emails through your LCMail. LC State will not take documentation, requests, replies or other emails through a personal email!
