LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College alum and former Lewiston High School art teacher John Patterson will have his exhibit “Works by John Patterson” on display starting on Oct. 4 at the Center for Arts & History, located at 415 Main St. in Lewiston.
The show will have an opening reception at 5-9 p.m. on Oct 4 at the Center during Beautiful Downtown Lewiston’s ArtWalk, where Patterson is this year’s featured artist. The exhibit will run through Dec. 14.
Patterson graduated from the college with degrees in biology and art, and earned his master’s in fine art with an emphasis in painting from the University of Idaho. He then accepted a teaching position at Lewiston High School in 1988 and worked there until his retirement this year. During 2014-2019 Patterson chaired the LHS Humanities Department.
Patterson has exhibited his work throughout the West Coast, Nevada and Alaska in group and solo exhibits.
“Works by John Patterson” is brought to the community through grant funding from ARTSIdaho and US Bank and by cash donation from Colleen Mahoney.
