Teaching Experience

Upon joining the Nursing & Health Sciences (NHS) Division in 2007, Dr. Harwick taught a variety of courses in the BSN program. Content areas included medical-surgical nursing, acute care and preceptorship practicum experiences, preparation for NCLEX-RN and professional practice, and professional role development - nursing leadership. In 2017, she was selected to serve as the Nursing & Health Sciences Division Chair and continued teaching various nursing courses. In 2023, Dr. Harwick assumed the role of Associate Dean for the School of Professional Studies and in 2025, was appointed as Interim Dean. In 2026 she was appointed Dean for the newly formed School of Health Professions, overseeing the Nursing Division, Allied Health-CTE Division, Radiographic Sciences and Social Work departments, and the Healthcare Education Center. 

About Me

As an RN, Dr. Harwick practiced as a staff nurse in an intensive care unit. As an advanced practice nurse (Family Nurse Practitioner), she practiced in settings such as Student Health Services, Allergy/ Asthma/ Immunology and Family Practice. 

Dr. Harwick has lived in Lewiston since 1981, after moving here from central Oregon. She and her husband enjoy the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
