Electrical Apprenticeship

Intended for those already working in the trade, this apprenticeship program provides participants with electrical theory and hands-on training, all while students continue to work in the field.

An apprenticeship is required for individuals seeking an electrician journeyman card.

Training includes 64 credits in electrical theory and hands-on work.

Students can also pursue an associate degree while doing their apprenticeship. The associate degree requires students to take 16-18 general education courses in addition to the 64 theory and apprenticeship credits:

• Written and oral communication (6 credits)
• Math for technology (4 credits)
• Social and behavioral ways of knowing (3 credits)
• General education core classes (3-5 credits)

The electrician apprenticeship is offered as non-credit through Workforce Training. Students can request to transfer the training to credit once coursework is completed; the transfer costs $10 per credit.
