About
The fire service technology program is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of volunteer and paid firefighters through high-quality training and educational programs.
FST courses meet most fire agencies’ minimum qualifications for employment in the region. Classes are offered both on and off campus through collaborative agreements with local fire departments, with local personnel also helping provide class instruction. The program’s hands-on training ensures students master the skills necessary for a successful career in fire service.
The curriculum is based on the National Fire Protection Association standards, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress requirements, and the National Fire Academy’s Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education model.
