TRIO Talent Search

Program status update

Please be aware of a delay in our normal TRIO services to public elementary, middle and high schools in our region, as we await official confirmation from the U.S. Department of Education that funding will be in place to continue LC State's Talent Search program for the 2025–26 academic year.

On Aug. 26, 2025, our program was granted an extension of services through September, 2025, and we continue to work in anticipation of full funding soon. We may not receive a final determination until October, 2025.

LC State will continue to inform schools and students as we learn more. In the meantime, staff is available to assist with any questions or concerns you may have.

Talent Search mission:

LC State's TRIO Talent Search program helps make college possible for students whose families are on a limited income and whose parents didn't graduate with a four-year college degree. We serve students in grades 6-12, and individuals up to age 27 who are seeking a GED.

TRIO ETS is 100% federally funded. Nationwide, over 387,600 individuals are enrolled in 471 ETS programs. Our outreach serves Idaho schools in Grangeville, Kamiah, Kooskia, Lapwai, Orofino, and Timberline.
