Teaching Mathematical Thinking (TMT) Courses
The Teaching Mathematical Thinking (TMT) course fulfills the 3 credit Mathematical Teaching for Instruction (MTI) course requirement for Idaho teachers and administrators. This professional development course examines the development of an understanding of student-centered mathematics instruction in the context of Idaho Content Standards for Teaching and Learning.
Dates are planned for the 2025-2026 school years, additional years are contingent upon continued funding of the program.
Course Format: Online - Eight Modules
Grades: 3-5
Live/Synchronous Sessions: January 24 and February 14 from 8:30AM - 4:30PM (PT) with working lunch

Supporting Students with Disabilities in the Math Classroom
Who: All Math Educators (K-12 Teachers, Special Education, Paraprofessionals)
What: Participants will have the opportunity to co-develop a math support plan tailored to their needs, engage in conversations around classroom implementation of strategies for students with math difficulties, and consider and implement Universal Design for Learning instructional strategies
Math Integrated with Narrative, Games, Literacy & Exploration (MINGLE)
Purpose: To develop and deliver integrated math-literacy lessons that connect mathematical concepts to picture books, promoting cross-curricular learning and increasing student engagement and understanding
Who: K-3 Teachers; Limited space is available so sign up!
What: Create and implement mathematics lesson plans integrating story books with a Regional Math Specialist and a team of peers
2025-2026 School Year Monthly Virtual Meetings via Teams; Classroom-based coaching
