Poetry reading is March 14 at Center for Arts & History

LEWISTON, Idaho - Poet Chris Dombrowski will be reading from his latest book of poems Earth Again Friday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Center for Arts and History, 415 Main Street, Lewiston.  His reading is part of the Lewis -Clark State College Visiting Writer Series.

Chris Dombrowski is the author of two books of poems, Earth Again (2013) and By Cold Water (a finalist for Foreword Magazine’s Poetry Book of the Year in 2009), both published by Wayne State University Press. Of Dombrowski’s  book, Earth Again, Laura Kasischke writes: “An arresting, beautiful collection of poems. Chris Dombrowski is musical and intellectual in equal measure, and the poems here are memorable in every way - surprising and strange, moving and alarming, delightful and frightening. This is important new work.”

Dombrowski’s poems have appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including Poetry, Making Poems, Gulf Coast, and Crazyhorse. His honors include an Intro Award from the Associated Writing Programs, Alligator Juniper’s National Poetry Prize, a Pushcart Prize Special Mention, a Best American Notable Essay, and a Fellowship from the UCross Foundation. Additionally, in venues such as Gray’s Sporting Journal,Orion, Outside, and The Sun, he has published essays and articles that chronicle his 15-plus summers as a river-guide in the West.
