Art of Giving – Send Hunger Packing returns to Art Under the Elms

LEWISTON, Idaho – A food drive organized by LCSC students, faculty, and staff is back this year for Art Under the Elms.

Art of Giving – Send Hunger Packing involves a number of campus groups, including the Engineering Club, Poli-Sci Club, Anthropology Club, Student Organization of Social Workers, and Phi Alpha.  International Students helped collect food for the drive last weekend in the Normal Hill neighborhood.

Donations benefit Community Action Partnership Food Bank, Asotin County Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul Food Banks, and the YWCA.

As part of the drive, a canned goods sculpture contest features student clubs and organizations designing sculptures from donated food.  Visitors to Art Under the Elms can cast a vote for their favorite sculpture.  And a donation of two cans of food or one dollar earns an entry into a door prize drawing for one of three gift baskets with the themes Artful Evenings, The Art of Leisure, and Cuisine Art.

The LCSC Poli-Sci Club will match the first $300 donated.

Art Under the Elms is taking place on the LCSC campus Friday, April 25 - Sunday April 27
