LCSC announces new chair for Business Division

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College has announced the new chair of the school’s Business Division.

Dr. Delta Heath-Simpson has accepted the position of Chair of the Business Division, effective July 1, 2014.  Dr. Heath-Simpson, currently a professor in the Business Division, was one of three finalists identified by the search committee for the position.  She has been a faculty member in the Business Division since 1993, teaching primarily accounting courses.

Heath-Simpson earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in French from Lewis-Clark State College;  and a B.S. in Business Education, an MBA with Emphasis in Accounting, and a PhD in Education, all from the University of Idaho.  Her research and scholarship has focused on adult learners.  She has been a member of the college Curriculum Committee since 2001 and has also served on many other college and division committees.  She received the President’s Award for Outstanding Teaching in 2006 and the Business Division Faculty of the Year Award that same year.  She serves as a member of the Potlatch #1 Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee as well as the City of Lewiston Audit Committee.

The search committee was chaired by Sue Niewenhous, Director of the LCSC Library and included Bill Clouser, Interim Chair of the Business Division; Rachel Kaitz, Asst. Professor of Business; Travis Osburn, Assoc. Director of Financial Aid; and Jill Thomas-Jorgenson, Asst. Professor of Business.  Bill Clouser has served as Interim Business Division Chair since July 1, 2013.  He is retiring Professor Emeritus from LCSC at the end of June, after teaching at the college since 1985.
