Craig Whitcomb in Local Artist Spotlight

LEWISTON, Idaho – The LCSC Center for Arts & History (CAH) presents another Local Artist Spotlight exhibit: Craig Whitcomb – Je dis toujours la verite… pas toute.  (I always tell the truth… not all.)

A multi-media retrospective of the award-winning artist’s work will open with a reception on Thursday, November 13 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the upstairs galleries.  The exhibition runs November 13 – January 10, 2015.

Craig Whitcomb is a multi-media artist who works in watercolor, graphite, pastel, acrylic, and colored pencil.  Whitcomb’s approach is eclectic in style, method, and subject.  His art reflects his many world travels.  He has recently served as the curator of the Valley Art Center in Clarkston, has shown at the International Miniature Show in Florida and holds a membership in Northwest Watercolor Society and the Spokane Watercolor Society.  Recent exhibitions include Art Idaho, the Museum of Eastern Idaho and this fall - an exhibit where he was the featured artist with the Wenaha Gallery in Dayton Washington.

The Local Artist Spotlight, featuring Craig Whitcomb is brought to the LCSC Center for Arts & History through grants from US Bancorp, the Idaho Commission on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.  CAH believes strongly in the local artistic community.  In order for local artists to thrive, CAH recognizes the importance of supporting them by providing opportunities to further their work.  The Center for Arts & History Local Artist Spotlight program features three to four local artists in a variety of different media in a quality exhibition space each exhibit season (August - July).

The gallery is open Monday - Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Admission is free, but donations are welcome.  Docent tours of the exhibit can be scheduled by calling the Gallery at 208.792.2243,
