LCSC students form Women’s Club Softball Team

LEWISTON, Idaho – Students from Lewis-Clark State College have recently formed a Women’s Club Softball Team.  Club president Kenzee Burke initiated the club and has secured Rebecca Snider, Assistant Professor of the Division of Business, Technology, and Service, as the faculty advisor.

“The Warrior Softball Club is a group of hard working, dedicated students who have a love for the game of softball,” said Burke. “This club gives local students, as well as those students from outside the area who have chosen to attend LCSC for a better education, an opportunity to continue to play the sport they love at the next level. It also gives our community another opportunity to support our college and watch a competitive college softball team.”

There are over 20 women who have expressed interest in playing softball for the club team.  The team has been able to purchase uniforms and travel to regional games through fundraising efforts and the solicitation for grant funds from ASLCSC and the Co-Curricular Grant.

“From my point of view, this club has hit the ground running. They have accomplished a great deal in a very short amount of time,” said Brandon Lytle, Student Activities and Campus Recreation Director.  “The reaction that I have heard from the campus is very positive, and the campus seems very supportive in making this club a success. I feel this club will be a fine representation of LCSC.”

One of the club’s long-term goals is to become a sanctioned NAIA softball team.

The club’s first game will be March 14 at 10 a.m. against Boise State at Airport Park in Lewiston. Their complete spring schedule is as follows:
