Lewis-Clark State to host first homecoming since 1979

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will hold its first official homecoming since 1979 when it invites all alumni to return to campus for Warrior Homecoming 2015 on Oct. 22-24.

Over 20 events will fill the three-day celebration and give LCSC alums from far and wide as well as current students, faculty, and staff a broad menu of activities to participate in with numerous chances to connect or reconnect with the college and community.

“We’re excited to be revitalizing an old tradition that dates back decades at LCSC,” President J. Anthony Fernandez said. “We invite everyone to take part in the festivities for these three days in October.”

Homecoming officially begins on Thursday, Oct. 22, with a kick off and registration outside of the Activity Center at 5 p.m., followed by a Warrior volleyball match at 7 p.m. LCSC will face Frontier Conference foe Montana Western and the first 500 in attendance will receive a free hot dog and soft drink.

Friday, Oct. 23, will feature activities all day long including Pancakes with the President at 10 a.m. at the Student Union Building, a faculty and staff vs. students kickball game at 2 p.m., a Warrior Warmup event at the President’s House from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and the Warrior baseball team’s National Championship Ring Dinner at the Williams Conference Center at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s schedule on Oct. 24 is just as full, with events including the Warrior Cross Country Duathlon and Doc Sears Fun Run at 8 a.m., an Alumni and Friends Wine Tour at 1 p.m., a golf outing at Bryden Canyon Golf Course at 1 p.m., family activities on the Administration Building lawn from 2-5 p.m., and the Homecoming Finale at 7 p.m. at the Activity Center.

Saturday will also feature a number of home Warrior sporting events throughout the day including baseball at 10 a.m., volleyball at 2 p.m., women’s basketball at 5 p.m., and men’s basketball at 7 p.m. Alums who have registered for homecoming will get in free to all athletic events during the three days. Fans can get into any of Saturday’s games for just $1.
