LEWISTON, Idaho – A pair of exhibitions will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, at the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History, located at 415 Main Street in Lewiston. The exhibits “Idaho Booker’s Dozen” and “Black & White & Read” will be on display until Jan. 30 and are free and open to the public.
The 2015 edition of “Idaho Booker’s Dozen” is a juried show of artists’ books that travel to multiple venues all over the state. Artists’ books are one-of-a-kind objects or small editions, as long as they are self-published by a book artist. This exhibition is put together by the Idaho Center for the Book at Boise State University.
“Black & White & Read” features black and white photography of women with poetry created from the photographs. The exhibit is the work of 16 photographers and 15 poets, and is brought to the community by sponsorship from …and BOOKS too! and through grants from US Bancorp, the Idaho Commission on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
